We are delighted to share the full recording of our 30th Anniversary Concert, which took place in May at the Wathen Hall, St Paul’s School in Barnes.
Hosted by Amber’s Chair, Professor Adam Ockelford, and Amber Patron Derek Paravicini, the concert features some of the talented musicians supported by the charity, including Eleanor, Evan, Chapman, Ivan, Benjamin, Brianna, India, Lily M, Nikhil, and George. Special appearances by Poppy McGhee and Amber alumni Lily B and Lilly K.
The programme included a wide and varied repertoire – from classical pieces by Bach, Handel, and Prokofiev, to modern hits such as Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’, and ‘Someone You Loved’ by Lewis Capaldi.
‘We combined outstanding performances from 15 of our young people with delicious birthday cake and plenty of sunshine,’ says Amber CEO Sophie Amstell.
‘The outcome was a joyful afternoon of music that everyone will remember for a long time. Congratulations to all our young performers.’
With thanks to all of our musicians and volunteers who made the concert so special, and to the High Master and St Paul’s School for generously allowing us to use the Wathen Hall once again.
[Video description: The showreel is a collection of small excerpts from our 30th Anniversary Concert. The concert is in a big hall with tiered seating for the audience. In front of the audience is the stage area with two grand pianos, microphone stands, a drum kit, keyboard, and amps. The musicians take it in turns to perform, each one introduced by our concert host, Professor Adam Ockelford.]
