Calling young music lovers!

On Thursday the 1st August from 10.30am to 12pm, the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC) is hosting a music workshop for children aged 0-7 with a vision impairment at their London Centre. This session is held in collaboration with The Amber Trust.

At this workshop, children will get the chance to play percussion instruments, sing songs, and join in with some musical games! Parents will also have the opportunity to ask representatives of both The Amber Trust and the RSBC about the work they do for young people with a vision impairment.

The session will be led by Caterina, an Amber Music Practitioner and Music Therapist. Caterina holds a BMus Music degree from Goldsmiths University, a PGCert in Sounds of Intent from University of Roehampton, and MA Music Therapy from Anglia Ruskin University. Caterina has experience working with children in the early years, children with visual impairments, Autism, Severe and Profound and Multiple Learning needs, children with neurodegenerative diseases, children in Social Emotional and Mental Health schools, and adults in neurorehabilitation. Caterina’s sessions are mainly based on responding to service user needs through improvisation and non-verbal communication. She is passionate about the use of music as a powerful tool for connection.
