On 10 February, Amber young musicians, families, trustees and guests were honoured to attend a reception hosted by Her Majesty The Queen, to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. Her Majesty has been President of The Amber Trust since 2012.
In the magnificent Throne Room at St James’s Palace, The Queen watched a recital by talented young Amber beneficiaries aged between 8-19, as well as internationally renowned pianist and Amber Patron Derek Paravicini. Presented by Amber Youth Board Chair Eleanor Stollery, the recital included pieces by Elgar, Gershwin, Mozart and a very special composition by 15-year-old pianist Chapman Shum, dedicated to Her Majesty. The programme ended with a rousing ensemble performance of ‘Fly Me to the Moon’.
The Queen then met with the performers and their family members in Clarence House to hear about their achievements and the impact The Amber Trust has had on their lives.

The warmth, generosity and care shown to our young musicians made the evening incredibly special, and it was deeply moving to see their talent received with such appreciation and respect. We are profoundly grateful for Her Majesty’s support, which meant so much to everyone involved.”
