Amber’s President
Her Majesty Queen Camilla has renewed her support and commitment to The Amber Trust as the charity’s President.
Since Her Majesty first became our President in March 2012, we have seen a period of significant growth and development. The charity’s profile has increased during this time and we have reached new supporters.
We are sincerely grateful for this continuing patronage. It makes such a difference to the blind and partially sighted young people we support.

Amber’s Founder
Professor Adam Ockelford is the founder of The Amber Trust. His pioneering work in music and special abilities and needs, and his belief in the musical potential of blind and partially sighted children, led to the creation of Amber in 1995.
Adam has played a central role in shaping Amber’s approach. His research and practice have helped to transform understanding of how children with vision impairment, including those with additional needs, can learn, develop and communicate through music. He continues to be closely involved with Amber’s work, attending trustee meetings, curating our annual concert, advising staff and trustees, and acting as a critical friend.
Amber is proud to continue building on Adam’s original vision: for blind and partially sighted children, including those with additional disabilities, to have the best possible chance to meet their musical needs and aspirations and fulfil their potential.
